Johnston Press Open To Selling Off Newspaper Titles

Oh what joy. The news i’ve been waiting for now for about 3 years. Johnston Press have admitted (without admitting) that many of their newspapers have hit the wall.

My local Johnston Press Title ‘The Mid Sussex Times’ has been put in group 3 of 4. 1 being the best, 4 being the worst.

Unsurprisingly, the West Sussex County Times newspaper based in Horsham – where ALL the Sussex reporters are now located – is in group two and this seen as more important and profitable than the Mid Sussex Times.

Johnston Press have indicated that they would sell off some of their titles……. yet they’ve come out and said they are not very desirable, so why would other newspaper groups want to buy them!

JP also have about £180 of debt they need to pay off, and as for their share price, well that’s totally tanked over the past year and currently sits at around 30p…. i’ll just go check that, hold on!….. 38.25p at the close of trading on Thursday 21st January 2016. This time last year is was £1.68
